Learn to Control Diabetes with Free Seminars
at Methodist Hospital
To help the growing number of people with diabetes, Methodist
Hospital is offering free classes with information and advice.
Each session is geared to the needs of those in attendance,
says certified diabetes educator Barbara Drake, RN, MSN. Instructors
will discuss topics such as glucose monitoring, exercise and
meal planning. Theres plenty of opportunity to
ask questions, says Drake, who instructs the classes
along with a Methodist Hospital dietitian.
Many diabetics who have attended these seminars feel
encouraged to make necessary lifestyle changes after meeting
others with the disease, says Drake.
The classes are held on the first and third Wednesdays of
each month from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Conference Room 2 on the
lower level of Methodist Hospital, 2301 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia.
Methodist Hospital is a division of Thomas Jefferson University
