The specialists of Methodist Hospital’s Division of Cardiology provide exceptional in- and outpatient cardiac care to our patients from South Philadelphia.
Our team of experts, which includes the cardiologists of the Jefferson-Methodist Heart Center, are highly skilled in treating patients with:
- Lipid disorders
- Valvular heart disease
- Coronary disease
- Hypertension
- Congestive heart failure
- Peripheral artery disease
We also place a strong emphasis on preventative care, working with patients to avert the onset of heart disease in those at risk, and to lower the risk of recurrent disease in those with a history of cardiovascular ailments.
To help transition patients back to a normal, active life following a cardiac event or procedure, we maintain Methodist’s Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests (including stress echocardiography) and nuclear stress tests are regularly performed at the hospital’s Heart Station, located on the second floor. When more invasive testing or procedures are needed, such as cardiac catheterizations or valve replacements, our specialists can seamlessly coordinate appointments or inpatient transfers with Jefferson’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or the Jefferson Heart Institute.
Methodist Hospital has been caring for South Philadelphia since 1892. For a physician or referral, please call 1-800-JEFF-NOW, or use the online appointment request form. To schedule tests or procedures, call 215-952-1234.
