The Philadelphia Hand Center at Methodist brings together a highly specialized team of physicians, nurses and therapists devoted to the surgical care and rehabilitation of patients with injuries and conditions of the hand, wrist, arm and shoulder.
As the Delaware Valley’s leading program, we strive to restore a satisfying quality of life to patients with conditions ranging from arthritis, fractures/dislocations and congenital defects to burns, nerve and tendon damage, crush injuries and amputations.
To date, we have performed the most total wrist replacements in the Philadelphia region. Every procedure – from trigger finger and carpal tunnel release to nerve transfers, wrist arthroscopies and minimally invasive thumb base osteoarthritis surgery – is performed by The Philadelphia Hand Center’s world-renowned specialists in operating rooms equipped with the latest technology for procedures of the hand and wrist.
Each specialist is board certified in orthopedic surgery, with additional qualifications in surgery of the hand; many are microsurgeons. All perform extensive academic research through Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.
The Center’s anesthesia team is the national leader in acute pain management for upper extremity procedures.
Before surgery, patients arrive on the third floor of the hospital at the Center’s waiting/changing room. Afterwards, we monitor outpatients in the Center’s post-operative areas until they are cleared to go home. The Center’s inpatients will be taken to their rooms, where they may begin to receive physical or occupational therapy.
Patients can be seen at any of The Philadelphia Hand Center’s 10 convenient office locations including Center City, King of Prussia and Cherry Hill for diagnosis and/or non-surgical treatment.
