About Volunteering

Why Volunteer at Jefferson?

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals. Due to the high volume of volunteer applications received, we are not accepting anymore applications at this time. Please check back for updates. We apologize for any inconvenience.

There are many reasons why people volunteer their time, such as staying busy, learning a new skill and giving back to the community. At Jefferson, we have many programs and areas that accept volunteers, including patient care, knitters, greeters, the Teen Program and more. View a full list of our volunteer programs.

You can join the Jefferson team and share your warmth and talents in many ways. While you volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn new skills
  • Meet new friends
  • Explore careers in healthcare fields
  • Enjoy a sense of personal satisfaction

For each 4-hour shift, you will receive a voucher towards the purchase of a meal in our Atrium cafeteria, a Hospital pharmacy discount and an invitation to attend periodic lectures and special events.
