About the Integrative Pediatrics Program
The Integrative Pediatrics Program at the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine combines the best evidence-based conventional medicine with a variety of proven lifestyle therapies and complementary techniques. This natural and comprehensive approach is designed to help young people feel better, perform better and thrive at their fullest potential.
We treat infants, children and adolescents from ages birth to 21 years of age, with a wide range of medical conditions, as well as those who aim to optimize overall health and minimize risk factors for future problems. We also offer comprehensive consultations to expectant parents.
Some common issues we address include:
- ADD/ADHD
- Allergies
- Asthma
- Autism spectrum disorders and other developmental concerns
- Behavior problems
- Cancer care support
- Ear infections
- Eating problems
- Emotional health
- Headache
- Obesity and weight management
- Pre- and post-surgical stress management
- Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
- Prenatal consultations
- Preventive health/minimizing risk factors for illness
- Sinusitis
- Skin conditions (eczema, hives, acne)
- Sleep disturbances
- Stomach and intestinal problems
We have established a pre-consultation process to make your face-to-face time with your physician as meaningful and effective as possible. A detailed health questionnaire is completed, which your physician will review before your first visit is scheduled. We also collect all relevant labs and tests prior to the consultation. This allows your physician to have a health snapshot of your child before you ever walk through the door.
Our practice provides expert evaluations, second opinion consultations and follow-up visits. Emergency and on-call services are not provided but should be continued with your child's primary care physician.
