Clinical Nurse Excellence Award

The Clinical Nurse Excellence Award recognizes a professional nurse who has demonstrated outstanding performance in the planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care. The award is presented by the Women’s Board of Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals.

Excellence in Nurse Preceptorship/Mentorship Award

The Excellence in Nurse Preceptorship/Mentorship Award recognizes a professional nurse who demonstrates leadership in patient care. This nurse guides and motivates others and supports the education, development and continual improvement of novice and experienced nurses. The award is presented by the Jefferson School of Nursing.

Rising Star Award

The Rising Star Award recognizes a novice nurse in clinical practice who demonstrates commitment to the nursing profession through excellence in patient care.

2010 Winner: Jacqueline McManus, BSN, RN

Career Achievement Award

The Career Achievement Award recognizes an experienced nurse who has made substantial and significant contributions to the nursing profession throughout his or her career at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals.

2010 Winner: Sheri Lea Lenard, RN

Community Service Award

The community service-nursing award recognizes a staff nurse who has contributed significantly to the betterment of the community through sharing clinical expertise in an area of practice and volunteering his/her time.

Eileen Kelly Critical Care Nursing Award

Eileen was committed to developing exceptional critical care and cardiovascular nursing knowledge and skills through continuing education. The recipient of the award in her memory is a role model for lifelong learning who demonstrates how continuing education and membership in AACN can inspire and enhance critical care and cardiovascular nursing practice. This award is presented by the SePA Chapter-AACN.

Oncology Nursing Award

The Oncology Nurse Award recognizes a professional nurse who has made substantial contributions to providing quality care for oncology patients.

2010 Winner: Christine Muldoon, BSN, RN

Janet C. Hindson Award

The Miss Janet C. Hindson Award recognizes individuals whose work celebrates the caring and service to others that characterized Miss Hindson’s life. The award is given annually to the nurse who demonstrated steadfast caring for the most vulnerable individuals in society. Steadfast caring embodies devotion to relieving the suffering of others, respect for colleagues and commitment to creating environments that enhance the physical, mental and spiritual comfort of others.

The Janet C. Hindson Lifetime Achievement Award

The Janet C. Hindson Lifetime Achievement Award was established in 2010, to honor previous Hindson winners for their exceptional professional achievements, personal integrity and service to Jefferson Hospital. These are the qualities exemplified by the life of Janet Hindson, demonstrating steadfast caring for the most vulnerable individuals in society. This legacy is continued by the Lifetime Achievement Award winner.
