Kristin Brill, M.D., Joins the Department of Surgery at Jefferson
Kristin
Brill, M.D., F.A.C.S., recently joined the Department of Surgery at
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and was also named an instructor
of Surgery at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson
University. Dr. Brill specializes in the surgical treatment of benign
and malignant breast conditions.
Dr.
Brill received her medical degree from the Hahnemann University School
of Medicine in Philadelphia in 1995. She earned a Bachelor of Arts
degree in biology from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
in 1988. Dr. Brill completed a surgical residency from 1995-2000 in
the Department of Surgery at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn,
New York. She served as chief resident in the department from
1999-2000. Dr. Brill also completed a fellowship, and was an assistant
attending physician in the Division of Breast Surgery at
Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, New York.
Dr. Brill is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Disease and the Mammographic
Society of Philadelphia. Her work has appeared in national publications such as The Breast Journal,
and she has contributed to various research studies on the topic of
breast surgery and cancer. She is board certified as a Diplomat of the
American Board of Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Brill does extensive lecturing to physician and patient groups
about breast health and serves as a physician expert for the Web site www.breastcancer.org, and actively participating in its national “Ask the Expert” Web chats.
Dr. Brill is a resident of Moorestown, Burlington County, New Jersey.
