Dr. Krein Comments on the Dangers of Injectable Fillers in CBS 3 Report
In a CBS 3 report on the potential dangers of injectable fillers, 823 complications were reported from injections over the past five years.
"You can have granulomas which are little cysts that occur where you injected the filler, to infection...that really tear up and eat the skin and cause serious scarring and there have even been cases of blindness where the filler is injected into an artery," Dr. Howard Krein, an ENT physician at Jefferson who specializes in general otolaryngology/head and neck surgery and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, tells CBS 3.
The bigger problem, Dr. Krein says, is the untrained doctors who perform these injections.
