David M. Cognetti, M.D., Joins the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Jefferson
David
M. Cognetti, M. D., recently joined the Department of Otolaryngology –
Head and Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH),
and was named an assistant professor at Jefferson Medical College of
Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Cognetti specializes in head and neck
oncologic surgery as well as thyroid and parathyroid disorders. His
training includes endoscopic and open organ preservation surgery for
laryngeal cancer and minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid
surgery.
Dr.
Cognetti received his medical degree in 2002 from the University of
Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received
his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Georgetown University in
Washington, D.C. in 1998. Most recently, Dr. Cognetti completed a
fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery at the
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh. Before that, he
completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and an
internship in general surgery at TJUH, in 2007 and 2003 respectively.
Dr. Cognetti is board certified in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck
Surgery, the Pennsylvania Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck
Surgery, the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Medical
Society and the Philadelphia County Medical Society.
Dr. Cognetti resides in Montgomery County, PA.
