Jefferson Hospital's Chief Operating Officer, David P. McQuaid, Receives American College of Healthcare Executives Regent's Award
David McQuaid, FACHE, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital received the 2011 American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Regents' Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Award from the Healthcare Leadership Network of the Delaware Valley.
The award was bestowed on McQuaid by James B. Burke, FACHE, ACHE’s Regent for District 1/Pennsylvania/Eastern Region and COO, Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. The Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent's Award recognizes ACHE affiliates who are experienced in the field and have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE's goals.
Affiliates are evaluated on leadership ability, innovative and creative management, executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community, contributions to the development of others in the healthcare profession, leadership in local, state or provincial hospital and health association activities, participation in civic/community activities and projects, participation in ACHE activities, and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.
McQuaid has served as chief operating officer at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital since 2007.
Prior to this, he served as chief executive officer for Durham Regional Hospital/Duke University Health System in Durham, North Carolina. McQuaid is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence.
McQuaid received his bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences and his master's in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business and Economics.
