Christopher C. Chang, M.D., Ph.D., Named Director of Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Department of Pediatrics
Christopher C. Chang, M.D., Ph.D., has been appointed director of the Division of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology in the
Department of Pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and was named clinical professor of Pediatrics at
Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Chang will see patients in Philadelphia and at Nemours A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE, Jefferson’s partner in pediatric care.
Prior to his appointment at Jefferson, Dr. Chang served as associate professor of medicine in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of California at Davis.
Dr. Chang completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University of California at Davis. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
Dr. Chang earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He also holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees and a doctorate in chemistry, also from Georgetown University.
Board-certified in pediatrics and allergy and immunology, Dr. Chang’s research interests include food allergies and osteoimmunology. His research has been published in journals including Clinical Reviews in Allergy and Immunology, Clinical and Developmental Immunology, and the Journal of Asthma. Dr. Chang has also spoken extensively and authored several book chapters on allergies, asthma and food allergies.
Dr. Chang is a member of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology and is president and founder of the International Association of Chinese Allergists and Immunologists.
