Jefferson NICU Preemie Returns 16 Years Later as Volunteer

Rebecca Kamens spent the first three months of her life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Jefferson University Hospitals. She was born 16 years ago at just 1 lb., 7 oz. and called a "miracle baby" by physicians, nurses and her family.

In May 2011, Rebecca returned to Jefferson as a healthy 16 year-old to volunteer on the floor as part of a Special Studies program at the Agnes Irwin School. The program requires two weeks of outside the classroom learning; Rebecca spent one week at Jefferson. Cameras from NBC 10's "The Good News Is" followed Rebecca one morning.
