Dr. Mago Talks to KYW Newsradio About Prescribing Internet Websites
As more and more people are seeking medical advice from the Internet, Dr. Rajnish Mago of the Department of Pyschiatry and Human Behavior at Jefferson has begun prescribing his patients Internet websites after their appointments on actual prescription pads made specifically for Internet sites.
Dr. Mago shares his views with KYW Newsradio, asserting that one problem with patients using a search engine is that, "The Internet is full of potentially harmful information, because the Internet is not a monitored source."
Therefore, Dr. Mago believes doctors are doing their patients a favor by directing them to reliable websites such as MedlinePlus.gov.
