Jefferson Rwanda Exchange Program Featured on WHYY Radio and in Philadelphia Tribune

As part of Jefferson's Rwanda exchange program, there are currently three Rwandan medical students studying medicine at Jefferson. Twenty-three-year-old Jean Christophe Rusatira speaks about his experience thus far in an interview with WHYY Radio.

He says, "Because I've seen here that the patients also know much about what they suffer from, or what should be the care provided for them, they understand what's really being done for them. That understanding, helps patient stick to their doctor's care plan."

In an interview with the Philaelphia TribuneDr. James Plumb, co-director of the Center for Urban Health at Jefferson and faculty liaison for the program, says, "The program exposes Rwandan medical students to intensive training beyond what is offered in Rwanda; and helps our students interested in careers in family medicine gain exposure to the health issues in other parts of the world."
