Dr. DiNicola Comments on Visualization as Coping Method for Children with Cancer in Philadelphia Inquirer

Jarrod Skole, now a teenager, was diagnosed with cancer at age 10. Visualization helped Skole cope with his cancer, and he and his father wrote a book, Imagine What's Possible, a child's eye view of visualization, that was published by the American Cancer Society this year.

In a Philadelphia Inquirer story, Christina DiNicola, MD, FAAP, director of Jefferson's Integrative Pediatrics Program, comments, "Pain and stress are innately tied to wearing down the immune system, so anything that helps reduce that has to be considered. And I think visualization has been highly overlooked, and has great potential to help kids going through difficult illnesses."
