Dr. Harrop Comments on Neuroscience Research Funding Initiative in Philadelphia Inquirer

An initiative asking the National Science and Technology Council to coordinate federal investments in neuroscience recently won bipartisan support. Greatly supported by U.S. Representative Chaka Fattah, the approval of this initiative will be a step toward increasing funding for research into brain disorders.

In a Philadelphia Inquirer interview, Dr. James Harrop of the Department of Neurological Surgery at Jefferson says that research funding in his field is complex and bureaucratic. He adds that better coordination might "cut out some of the red tape."
