KYW Newsradio Interviews Dr. Willcox About Hearing Loss
A new study reports that one-fifth of Americans age 12 and older have some degree of hearing loss. The main causes are exposure to loud sounds, poor health and aging.
In a KYW Newsradio interview, Dr. Thomas Willcox of Jefferson's Department of Otolaryngology says, “By the time you reach 65, over 40-percent of people have some degree of hearing loss. By the time you reach 75, it’s more than 50-percent. By the time you reach 85, it's more than 60 percent.”
