Adrienne Sheehan, RN, Featured in Jewish Exponent Story About Pediatric Oncology

Adrienne Sheehan, RN, a nurseĀ at Jefferson, is interviewed by the Jewish Exponent about her experiences treatingĀ retinoblastoma patients. She says of the chemotherapy treatment, "It is invasive, but it is very specific and effective, and there are fewer side effects. The beautiful part is that retinoblastoma is now a curable cancer."

Of the 2.6 million licensed registered nurses working in health care in the U.S., there are only 3,000 certified pediatric oncology nurses (CPON), according to the article. CPONs work with a wide age range of patients, from newborns to 18 year olds.
