Anna Tobia, PhD, Talks Dissolvable Tobacco Products on WHYY Radio

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has gathered scientists and tobacco policy experts to study the potential health risks and benefits of dissolvable tobacco products.

Director of the smoking cessation program at Jefferson, JeffQuit, Anna Tobia, PhD, weighs in on dissolvable products in a WHYY interview.

"To be fair, they are very similar to smoking cessation products that have been on the market for a very long time — a lozenge or a gum for people who are trying to get off of tobacco."

She adds, "We will take anything to get our patients better and to get them to reduce the amount of cigarettes that they are smoking."
