Dr. DiNicola and Jefferson's Integrative Pediatrics Program Highlighted in Philadelphia Inquirer and on KYW Newsradio
Seventeen-year-old Sara Weinstein had tried just about everything to relieve her severe back pain when her family doctor referred her to the Integrative Pediatrics Program at Jefferson. Sara and her mother met with Jefferson pediatrician Dr. Christina DiNicola, who prescribed Sara a regimen of vitamins and supplements, a high-fiber diet and a series of controlled-breathing exercises after their 90-minute visit.
Dr. DiNicola explains in a Philadelphia Inquirer story, "After I interviewed her, I thought [the pain] was emotional and hormonal."
She kept Sara on an antiinflammatory drug prescribed by her doctor along with the supplements regimen. "The combination of all those things did the trick."
