Dr. Lin's Phase I Clinical Trial Investigating Chemotherapy Drug for Prostate Cancer Featured in ADVANCE for Imaging & Radiation Oncology

A multidisciplinary team of researchers at the Jefferson Kimmel Cancer Center have started a Phase I clinical trial investigating the latest prostate cancer chemotherapy drug, Cabazitaxel, in combination with radiation and hormone therapy.

Dr. Jianqing Lin in the Department of Medical Oncology at Jefferson and the principal investigator of the study explains in an ADVANCE for Imaging & Radiation Oncology article, "We know the drug is effective in prostate cancer, but there is no study with radiation and hormone therapy yet. Concurrent radiation may have a better control for localized disease, and better long-term survival for these high-risk patients."
