Dr. Monti's High-Dose Vitamin C Trial for Advanced Pancreatic Cancer Featured on NBC 10, MedCityNews.com and in Inquirer

The results of a phase I clinical trial of high-dose, intravenous vitamin C shows promise for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. Dr. Daniel Monti, director of the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine and lead author of the study, shares some important findings with NBC 10, the Philadelphia Inquirer and MedCityNews.com

Dr. Monti explains, "What we saw is that the majority of patients experienced some tumor regression, which is not typical for patients with pancreatic cancer even when getting chemotherapy."

He adds, "What we're hoping is that we have a non-toxic therapy that can help several different cancer types while improving quality of life."

NBC 10 also interviewed Jefferson medical oncologist Dr. M.V. Pillai about vitamin C treatment. Dr. Pillai says, "We need to think outside the box to make any headway in this field."
