CBS3 Interviews Dr. Serruya About Dementia

Although it is more common for people over the age of 65 to have symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, it is important to know what the early stage symptoms are.

In a CBS3 interview, Dr. Mijail Serruya, a neurologist at Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, explains, "One thing we know is a big predictor of how people will deal with the dementia process is their education level and their mental activity and engagement."

He also says that Alzheimer's tends to run in families and while medications can help an early diagnosis, it's difficult to predict how the mind will progress.
