Dr. Andrew Newberg Talks to ABC News Nightline About Near-Death Experiences
Dr. Andrew Newberg, director of research at the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine, talked about what happens to the brain during a near-death experience (NDE) on ABC News Nightline with Bob Woodruff. In this segment, "Beyond Belief: The Atheist and Her Brain," Dr. Newberg explained how our beliefs play a role in what we experience at near death.
Dr. Newberg said, "There is some evidence to suggest that if you are a religious person then you may more likely see, for example, images of Jesus or of God during a NDE where as if you are an atheist you may have a similar kind of experience but interpret in a very different way because of how your brain is structured."
