ABC News Interviews Dr. Gomella About New PSA Testing Recommendation
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recently made known its recommendation that healthy men should no longer receive PSA blood tests for prostate cancer as part of routine cancer screening. According to the Task Force, there is growing belief that the blood tests often do more harm than good.
In an ABC News interview, Dr. Leonard Gomella, chair, Department of Urology at Jefferson, called the decision an "appalling affront to all men who will die from prostate cancer."
