ABCNews.com Interviews Dr. Jeremy Close About Premature Ejaculation Treatment

Premature ejaculation is a sexual disorder that affects up to 30 percent of men worldwide. While some experts believe that a psychological approach can be useful, there is insufficient evidence to support the use of behavioral therapy as an effective treatment.

In an ABCNews.com interview, Jefferson primary care physician Jeremy Close, MD, said, "We often hear men only think with one brain, but there's still considerable thought and emotion that goes into sex."

He went on to say that "behavioral therapy is to address the stress they may be having with not satisfying their partner because of premature ejaculation and feelings of inadequacy because of that."
