Dr. Kavuru Comments on Heat-Related Illnesses in Philadelphia Tribune

The extreme heat can pose risks for people with asthma, allergies and heart conditions.

The Philadelphia Tribune talks with Dr. Mani Kavuru, director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division at Jefferson, about heat-related illnesses.

According to the article, Dr. Kavuru explains that excessive sweating, light-headedness and fatigue are all beginning signs of heat-related illnesses. "If you are experiencing these symptoms," he tells the reporter, "get to some place cool, rest and drink lots of water."
