Dr. Lawrence's Wikipedia Study Update Featured in Various News Outlets
A new study update reveals that while the cancer information on Wikipedia is nearly as accurate as the information on the U.S. National Cancer Institute's Physician Data Query (PDQ), it is harder to read and includes links to more dense information.
In a HealthDay News article picked up by U.S.News & World Report, study leader Dr. Yaacov Lawrence says, "The purpose of this study was to answer one question: Is the cancer information on Wikipedia correct? Reassuringly, we found that errors were extremely rare on Wikipedia. But the way information was presented on PDQ is more patient-friendly."
