Dr. Schwartz Quoted in Philadelphia Inquirer Story About Breast Reconstruction

According to the American Society of Clinical Oncology, 100,000 to 125,000 women in the United States undergo mastectomies each year. More and more women are having them to prevent future cancers after discovering that they are genetically vulnerable.

In a Philadelphia Inquirer article, Dr. Gordon Schwartz, director of theĀ Jefferson Breast Care Center, says that 90 percent of women he treats with mastectomies choose to have breast reconstruction after treatment.
