Kevin D. Judy, M.D., Joins Department of Neurological Surgery at Jefferson
Kevin D. Judy, MD, FACS, recently joined the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Department of Neurological Surgery and was named professor of Neurological Surgery at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.
Prior to his appointment at Jefferson, Dr. Judy served as associate professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and as an attending physician at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Judy’s postgraduate training began at the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh with an internship and residency in General Surgery. Dr. Judy performed his neurosurgery residency at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, ultimately serving as chief resident from 1991-1992. While there, Dr. Judy completed a brain tumor research fellowship.
A graduate of University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Dr. Judy earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1984.
Board-certified in neurological surgery, Dr. Judy’s research in neurological surgery and neuro-oncology has been published extensively in journals such as the Journal of Neurosurgery and the Journal of Neuro-Oncology. Dr. Judy has received multiple honors and grants for his academic research and has been listed in “Best Doctors in America” and Philadelphia magazine’s “Top Doctors.”
A member of several professional societies including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Dr. Judy is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and former co-chair of the Neurosurgery Committee of the Adult Brain Tumor Consortium.
