Alveolar Bone Graft

About Alveolar Bone Graft

Information

Alveolar Bone Graft at Jefferson

The alveolus bone is the part of the upper jaw that forms the sockets around the roots of the upper teeth under the gum tissue. When teeth are lost, the alveolar bone begins to melt away. To prevent this, an alveolar bone graft can be performed to allow the teeth to develop in the right place by putting bone in the socket or building up new bone for dental implants.

At Jefferson, our oral and maxillofacial surgeons will work with you and your child to go over the procedure and tell you what to expect after surgery.
