A Heart Healthy Cheesesteak, Really!

Heart healthy cheesesteak

When I lived in Chicago and came back to Philly for a visit, I never truly felt like I was home until I had a good cheesesteak.

Now, I’m back living here and can get cheesesteaks, chicken cheesesteaks, hoagie cheesesteaks and more, anytime I feel like it. Unfortunately, being a bit older, even the occasional Amoroso roll topped with thinly sliced grilled meat, fried onions and melted Provolone seems unwise from a weight and health perspective.

Well, this heart-healthy cheesesteak recipe looks like it could give me a taste of that old feeling of being home without crushing my efforts to eat better, keep my cholesterol under control as well as my waistline.

If cheesesteaks aren’t your thing, check out other heart-healthy recipes.
