Hospital Visitation Guidelines
As H1N1 influenza continues to circulate in the community, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals have adopted H1N1 hospital visitation guidelines. Thus, if someone you care about has come to Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals with an influenza-like illness, we ask that you be aware of the following policies:
- No visitors under 18. Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals do not allow visitors under the age of 18 unless they are also patients or unless we have identified other circumstances.
- No more than two visitors at a time. This guideline applies to visitors in inpatient rooms, as well as to people accompanying a patient in the emergency room. We strongly advise that visitors be limited to family members.
- No sick visitors. If you have fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, do not visit the Hospital. Please stay home.
- Ask for a mask for the patient. Please make sure that the patient with flu or cold symptoms wears a mask while in the Hospital.
- Wash your hands. Be sure to wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
- Catch your coughs and sneezes. Use a tissue or your upper sleeve to cover coughs and sneezes.
