Hepatologists collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, and nuclear medicine and oncology experts in this center's efforts at combating hepatitis B and other liver disease and in detecting liver cancer at an early stage. The center runs a hepatitis-B vaccine clinic and serves as an important resource for hundreds of thousands of Asian-Americans in the region and other groups at risk for this disease.
