Earning the Distinction
The Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson is one of only six cancer centers in the nation designated a Center of Excellence by Fertile Hope, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing reproductive information, support and hope to cancer patients and survivors whose cancer treatment may pose risk to his or her fertility.
Earning the distinction of Center of Excellence means that the oncologists, nurses and social workers at the Kimmel Cancer Center are ready and willing to take the time to assist patients of childbearing age to learn about the potential fertility risks from treatment, explore options to preserve fertility, and offer support and encouragement during the process.
If you are a patient of childbearing age special educational information and counseling will be provided to you if you wish to receive it.
