Outstanding Contributions to Clinical or Academic Medicine
Edith Mitchell, MD, clinical professor of Medicine and Medical Oncology at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, was honored with the 2009 National Medical Association Council on Concerns of Women Physicians Pfizer Research Award.
The award is given to a woman who has made outstanding contributions to clinical or academic medicine. It was presented at the Muriel Petioni, MD, Awards Luncheon, which took place at the National Medical Association Convention in Las Vegas. Female physicians who strive to eliminate health care disparities and provide quality health care to minorities are honored.
