Designated by the CDC as a Specialty Center for Public Health Preparedness

The Center for Bioterrorism and Disaster Preparedness is a federally funded entity with a mission to provide continuing education to the Nation's healthcare workforce and to teach the public about emergency procedures.

Our Recognition to Recovery (R2R) continuing education program will focus on training, web-based educations, drills, and publications, that cover threats from deliberate or accidental biological, chemical, and radiological events.

“Recognition to Recovery will help medical centers achieve the optimal response to patients injured in acts of terrorism and increase their chances of recovery,” said Edward H. Jasper, M.D., R2R project director and co-chair of the Emergency Preparedness Committee at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. “The R2R curriculum will be all inclusive and will be presented as a continuum of care, which covers not only the initial response to the disaster but also hospital care management through to recovery.”
