Facts about CancerCARE at Jefferson

We work closely with your primary care doctor and the specialists involved in your treatment. You and your doctors will make decisions about your specific treatment plan. Together, we will carefully consider the type and stage of the cancer, your age and general health, the risks and benefits of various treatment options and your personal preferences for treatment.

With early diagnosis and new treatment strategies, many patients with cancer can be cured. Our approach to cancer care is multidisciplinary, which means we form a team that involves all of the medical specialties you need for your comprehensive care. Whichever medical specialist you require – oncologist, surgeons or pathologist – our team is ready to partner with you on the road to recovery.

Jefferson Cancer Network
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University operate the Jefferson Cancer Network (JCN), a network of hospitals in the region dedicated to the furthering of clinical research and education in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Jefferson Oncology Group (JOG)
JOG was established in 1998 by oncology leaders in the Jefferson Health System seeking to complement the national cooperative group trials and to facilitate participation in Kimmel Cancer Center investigator-initiated trials beyond the Jefferson campus.
