Each year, 550,000 people in the United States experience heart failure, the leading cause of cardiovascular mortality. As
Baby Boomers age, that number will skyrocket. To meet this rising demand for specialized heart failure therapy, the Jefferson
Heart Institute of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital has established the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant
Center.
In addition to tailored, aggressive heart failure therapy, Jefferson’s Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Center provides
patients with “one-stop shopping” for all cardiac needs. Our depth and breadth of expertise and resources means we can provide
access to the full spectrum of life-saving heart care, ranging from the least-invasive drug therapies to state-of-the-art
surgery, including transplants.
Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals is certified by the Joint Commission for Ventricular Assist Device Destination Therapy.
