Bettina Herbert, M.D., Integrative Pain Management and Rehabilitation

Dr. Herbert is the lead physician for the Integrative Pain Management program at the Brind Center.  She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with additional expertise in utilizing body-centered techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints and chronic pain disorders.  Dr. Herbert’s treatment plans typically combine individualized nutritional and lifestyle assessments with a variety of hands-on therapies, including osteopathic manipulation, the Feldenkrais method, cranial osteopathy, visceral manipulation, neural tissue release, and gait and posture analysis. She utilizes these complementary techniques to help patients achieve lower pain levels, greater mobility and flexibility, and increased strength.  Dr. Herbert has successfully implemented this treatment approach to help numerous performing and fine artists, and athletes.

Dr. Herbert received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed her residency training at Thomas Jefferson University in the department of Rehabilitation Medicine, where she currently is a clinical instructor. She is enrolled in the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine as a Bravewell Fellow, and she also is a visiting scholar at the Center for Organizational Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania.
