Bettina Herbert, M.D., Integrative Pain Management and Rehabilitation
Dr. Herbert is the lead physician for the Integrative Pain Management program at the Brind Center. She is board certified
in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with additional expertise in utilizing body-centered techniques for the diagnosis
and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints and chronic pain disorders. Dr. Herbert’s treatment plans typically combine individualized
nutritional and lifestyle assessments with a variety of hands-on therapies, including osteopathic manipulation, the Feldenkrais
method, cranial osteopathy, visceral manipulation, neural tissue release, and gait and posture analysis. She utilizes these
complementary techniques to help patients achieve lower pain levels, greater mobility and flexibility, and increased strength.
Dr. Herbert has successfully implemented this treatment approach to help numerous performing and fine artists, and athletes.
Dr. Herbert received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed her residency
training at Thomas Jefferson University in the department of Rehabilitation Medicine, where she currently is a clinical instructor.
She is enrolled in the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine as a Bravewell Fellow, and she also is a visiting
scholar at the Center for Organizational Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania.
