Daniel A. Monti, MD, Executive and Medical Director
Dr. Monti is Director of the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University and Hospital.
He has expertise in several areas of integrative medicine, particularly mind-body medicine, mid-life health, and integrative
oncology. He has dozens of scholarly publications and presentations in these areas, and he has served as a peer reviewer for
numerous medical journals. Dr. Monti currently is the recipient of a substantial research grant from the National Institutes
of Health (NIH) to study the effects of a novel stress reduction intervention developed by his research team. Dr. Monti is
Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Jefferson Medical College
and Thomas Jefferson University. He has considerable expertise on health behaviors, and working with individuals and couples
to achieve greater health-related quality of life. Dr. Monti has received national funding to develop integrative medicine
educational materials and model demonstration programs in integrative medicine. He is co-author of The Great Life Makeover: a couple’s guide to weight, mood, and sex, published by Harper-Collins.
Dr. Monti graduated Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. He completed residency
training and a research scholars program at Jefferson Medical College. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry
and Neurology, and a full member of the Jefferson Kimmel Cancer Center where he assists the faculty and staff in developing
quality of life programs and research protocols.
