Vijayendra Pratap, PhD, DYP, Director of the Yoga Program
Dr. Pratap is Director of the Yoga Program at the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine. He is also President
of the Yoga Research Society, Founder and Director of the SKY Foundation, and author of Beginning Yoga, Yoga Vision, Secrets of Hatha Vidya and Stories Retold. Dr. Pratap, a student of Swami Kuvalayanandaji, served at India’s Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute as Lecturer of Yoga and
Mental Health, Assistant Director of Scientific Research and Managing Editor of Yoga Mimamsa.
Dr. Pratap received his PhD in Applied Psychology from the University of Bombay. He also received the Diploma in Yoga Pravishta
from Kaivalyadhama. Dr. Pratap has directed the Yoga program at Jefferson for over 30 years. This has included overseeing
the annual Medical Yoga seminars and Yoga Research Society conferences, hosting national and international experts in their
fields. Dr. Pratap teaches Classical Yoga to Jefferson medical students as part of the Wellness Selective Program, and he
has presented papers and conducted workshops at institutions and conferences worldwide.
