Mindfulness for Psychotherapists
Feb. 2 - Mar. 23, 2010
Overview of Professional Training in Mindfulness
Expertise: Based on the long-standing expertise of our senior teachers, we offer a wide range of training opportunities for professionals. Current programs and those under development offer professionals training and support for teaching group and individuals mindfulness. Programs extend from initial exposure to mindfulness through internships and supervision.
At Thomas Jefferson University: Since our program’s inception, MBSR has been part of the Jefferson Medical College curriculum. Recently, we have begun an academic course in the university that incorporates MBSR for both undergraduate and graduate students in the health professions.
Continuing Education: For more than a decade we have been providing continuing education credit in mindfulness for medical and mental health care professionals. In the coming year we will continue to offer our highly successful Practicum in teaching MBSR modeled on the practicum offered by the UMASS Center for Mindfulness. We will debut two other intensive courses for professionals interested in teaching MBSR or using mindfulness in clinical practice. And we will continue to offer our popular full-day workshops for medical and mental health care clinicians.
