Celebrate The Healing Power of Music
Announcing WXPN Musicians On Call at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital

Jefferson Hospital is proud to partner with 88.5 WXPN, the listener- supported radio station of the University of Pennsylvania, in Musicians On Call.

Musicians On Call, a nonprofit organization formed in 1999 in New York City, uses music and entertainment to promote and complement the healing process for patients.

Musicians participate in weekly “rounds” by giving in-room performances, which may be requested by the patients themselves, family and friends, or upon recommendation by physicians, nurses, social workers or other clinicians.

WXPN Musicians On Call is a free community-outreach program* to deliver the healing power of music through live early-evening performances each Wednesday by volunteer musicians at the bedsides of Jefferson Hospital patients, and, soon, through access to an in-house library of compact discs for our patients’ listening pleasure.

* Made possible by the generous support of WXPN Members and Business Sponsors TIAA-CREF and AstraZeneca.

Volunteers are needed to guide musicians on their future visits to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and to donate used CDs for our patients to enjoy – call 215-955-6222.
