Jefferson is consistently rated as among the best hospitals in the nation for Rehabilitation by U.S. News & World Report.
The Rehabilitation Unit is dedicated to caring for individuals with any impairment or functional limitation that may restrict life activities and/or participation in the community. Our team provides patients with state-of-the-art, individualized medical and rehabilitative care, along with emotional, social and psychological support to help them reach optimal independence and return to their homes and life in the community.
The Rehabilitation Process
The rehabilitation process includes the promotion of patient rights, inclusion and advocacy. The interdisciplinary team is committed to open communication and collaboration among its members, which includes and focuses on the patients and their families. The team philosophy promotes an understanding, respect and advocacy of each patient's goals and needs as well as sensitivity to his or her spiritual beliefs and cultural value system. The team will make every attempt to meet the cultural needs of the patient and family.
Funding sources for patients on the Rehabilitation Unit include Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurances and managed care programs. The Rehabilitation Unit identifies payer requirements during the preadmission process to ensure all requirements are complied with during the patient stay.
