A few years ago I was diagnosed with diabetes. My doctor says that bariatric surgery could help me lose enough weight to possibly cure my diabetes. Is that true?

It is true that people who have bariatric surgery usually have significant improvements of their Type 2 diabetes and many achieve cure. In fact, gastric bypass surgery is the most effective therapy for Type 2 diabetes with a greater than 80 percent cure rate.
