About half of patients think their skin is too loose. About half of them will pursue surgery to remove the excess skin. Your skin has an elastic-like quality allowing it to shrink which you are born with. Over your lifetime that decreases and can decrease more by environmental factors. However, almost all patients prefer the healthier weight with the loose skin as opposed to their pre-op weight.
