My doctor has told me that I am pre-diabetic and need to lose weight or risk my health. What does that mean?

If you are prediabetic and you don't lose weight, you are at high risk of becoming diabetic at some point in the next 5 to 10 years. As you know, diabetes can lead to many complications, including eye disease, kidney damage, nerve damage, heart attack and stroke. Losing weight and being active are essential in preventing diabetes and its complications.
