Will I still get hungry after weight-loss surgery?

Yes. The surgeries do not take away hunger; they allow you to satisfy your hunger with a very small amount of food.  For many bariatric surgery patients there is an initial lack of appetite for the first few months. Hunger feelings will eventually return and it is important to realize that stomach hunger is not a bad thing – it is part of being alive.

It is also important to distinguish stomach hunger from brain hunger and other cues to eat, which need to be controlled in order to successfully lose and maintain your weight loss after your surgery.
