About Dare to C.A.R.E. at Jefferson
Cardiovascular disease is the number one health problem in the United States today. More than half of Americans will die from complications of atherosclerosis, the most common cause of cardiovascular disease.
That's why Jefferson has partnered with Dare to C.A.R.E., a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives through vascular disease prevention and education.
You should have a vascular screening if you are over the age of 60 or 50 and older with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or have a history of tobacco use. Early detection is the key.
The screening is a noninvasive ultrasound examination of the carotid arteries in your neck and the aorta in your abdomen, and an evaluation of the circulation in your legs.
